The Early Years:
Brad still in his teens attended USC while at the same time immersing himself in the Los Angeles music scene. He studied music composition, began to write his own songs and performed in various bands. With a unique vocal style and insistent keyboard manner Brad could be found singing and playing piano at underground coffee houses, bars and boutique book stores throughout the downtown and Hollywood area.
His early, original recordings were produced in some of the finest and now infamous studio facilities in Los Angeles including Gold Star Studios (Phil Spector wall-of-sound) and Clover (Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen). This is where he developed the skills and foundation, which he would apply later on in his career. Brad graduated USC a few years later as the 1970’s were quickly coming to a close.
In the 1980’s during the “New Wave” music resurgence Brad formed the highly acclaimed Synth Rock Dance Band Class Action. Signed by A&M Records, Brad took his talents as a singer, songwriter and keyboardist on the road and into the Record Plant and El Dorado recording studios to record the album “Class Action”.
The album produced by Ed Thacker (The Psychedelic Furs, Cyndi Lauper and Marianne Faithful) exhibited Brad's razor sharp songwriting skills blended with pulsating synthesized rock instrumentation. Class Actions Techno-Rock version of the Jagger/Richards classic "Out of Time" was released as a single and praised for its innovativeness. Some of Brad’s friends joined him in the studio including Joe Read (The Call), George Callis (Textones/Josie Cotton) and Prescott Niles (The Knack).
The 1990’s brought new styles of music to the industry. Brad changed and transcended the electro-synth atmosphere with sonically reshaped rock n roll arrangements. The result is a sound textured with gritty vocals, seasoned guitar lines, bold keyboards and glistening harmonies. The pure craft of his songwriting verve is evidenced in his delivery of wistful ballads to aggressive, twisting compositions.
